Dee Honeychurch

Dee is a passionate advocate for survivors of childhood stroke and their families. As a parent of a survivor of childhood stroke, Dee has turned personal experience into meaningful change, co-founding Little Stroke Warriors in 2017 — a peer support network helping families navigating the challenges of childhood stroke. Through her advocacy work with Little Stroke Warriors, Dee played a key role in the development of Stroke Foundation’s Our Family Stroke Journey resource, which continues to guide and support families on their path forward. Dee's contributions to the stroke community have been widely recognised. She is a two-time recipient of Stroke Foundation awards, winning the Improving Life After Stroke award in 2018 and the prestigious President's Achievement Award in 2022. In 2024, Dee was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her service to community health, in recognition of her tireless advocacy to improve the lives of survivors of childhood stroke and their families — a testament to the profound and lasting impact of her work.
